Games of this test

The search depth of ctd is very suspect. It's not possible that it can not search more than depth 7 or 8 in the opening at that time control (low cpu priority ? debug build ?)

I can imagine that you draw this conclusion, but the bad result of CTD is not due to any of this.
What you see here is that CTD while in book will already start calculating. It does not do anything with it except filling the hashtables so that it will get a head-start when it really has to think about its first move.
As long as CTD (and its opponent) is in book, it will move quickly, hence the shallow depths.
