losses on time
Hi Leo,
I have been checking latest tests where Clarabit took place; In most of them there are losses on time by Clarabit because it doesnt play after last book move. It seems by the logfile you sent me, you are using polyglot with clarabit.
I have never had this kind of problem, Clarabit can be used in both, UCI and xboard, so there is no need for polyglot unless it is being used for homogeneus opening book for every engine.
According to the logfile:
< ENGINE bestmove e8g8 ponder d2d3

< ENGINE Error (Unknown UCI command):ponderhit CLARABIT RECEIVES A PONDERHIT WITHOUT BEING SEARCHING, SO IT REFUSES THE COMMAND
< XBOARD result 1-0 {White wins on time}
POLYGLOT GAME END
maybe I should add ponderhit command to the non-searching uci commands, but you could use Clarabit without polyglot too
Thanks and regards.

Re: 60th test tourney result from Stavenisse....
If I understand the problem correctly, Clarabit received the "ponderhit" command so quickly after receiving the "go" command, that it hadn't fully processed the "go" command and therefore wasn't in search mode yet and didn't expect to see "ponderhit".
I'd suggest fixing this by having Clarabit holding off on processing any new commands, until the "go" command has been processed at least to the point of putting the engine into search mode. Otherwise, there's no guarantee this problem couldn't happen even without polyglot (under a UCI GUI).
Of course since Clarabit supports WinBoard natively, another solution is to not use polyglot (or any UCI GUI), like you said.
