UCI Engine Update: BikJump v1.7
Both Eugene Nalimov and Andrew Kadatch kindly gave me explicit permission to use their endgame tablebases probing and decompression code in BikJump. So, I can now release a version of BikJump that queries the Nalimov endgame tablebases (3,4,5 piece) during the actual search (and not just at the root position as done by the GUI).
Version 1.7 of the UCI engine BikJump is now available at http://www.aartbik.com/MISC/chess.html for:
(1) Windows 32-bit
(2) Windows 64-bit
(3) Linux 64-bit
I obtained (2) by cross-compilation, and I am not sure if this version actually runs or if e.g. timing functions operate correctly (yes, my home systems are getting obsolete). I hope to get access to a Window 64-bit machine soon, but if someone has the time to provide me feedback on the 64-bit Windows version before that, I would appreciate it.
Sincerely,
Aart Bik

testing 64-bit version
Hi Aart Jan,
These are the results of a short testingtournament I played with Arena. There appear to be a lot of time forfeits. (Although they are sometimes the result of Arena itself and not the engine). Debugfiles can be downloaded at: tournaments http://home.casema.nl/vermeire/bigjump.rar
Engine Score Bi Bi S-B
1: BikJump32 5,5/6 ······ 11111= 2,75
2: BikJump64 0,5/6 00000= ······ 2,75

new 64-bit Windows version
Thank you so much for testing and sending me the debug output. Very kind of you!
Based on the debug output, I found a very obvious mistake: I cross-compiled into a debug version (slower) and, worse, the debug version often hits an internal assert, which caused the 64-bit version to simply quit most of the times. Both issues fixed and a new 64-bit binary for Windows posted (the new zip is 193KB, the faulty one was 195KB).
I can test the 32-bit Windows and 64-bit Linux version on my machines, but 64-bit Windows forms momentarily a hole in my testing ; sorry about that.
Thanks again (also to others) for sending me the debug information!
